Zena Illene Dusenberry, age 92, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at an adult foster home.
A funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Wes Winn officiating. Private interment will be at Rock Point Cemetery in Gold Hill. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
She was born Zena Illene Cotton on May 25, 1921 in Myrtle Point, Oregon to James & Mabel Cotton. After high school graduation, she studied to be a teacher for one year in college. On September 3, 1947 she married John Alexander Griffin and they had four daughters, Minnie, Kay, Pat and Donna. They first owned a dairy in Myrtle Point before moving to Grants Pass over 50 years ago. They owned and operated a dairy in Grants Pass for many years before selling. Zena then went to work at a local nursing home for 18 years. After her husband John died, several years later she married Arthur K. Dusenberry.
Her hobbies included camping, fishing, gardening, flowers, playing horseshoes, playing Scrabble and Yahtzee, puzzles and collecting frogs. For many years she enjoyed traveling around the world with Art.
For 15 years she was a member of the Good Sam Club.
Survivors include two daughters, Minnie Creasey and Kay Chisholm both of Grants Pass, Oregon; a brother; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, John A. Griffin and Arthur K. Dusenberry; two daughters, Donna Griffin and Pat Bohannon; a sister; and four brothers.
