Yvonne L. Fox passed away peacefully on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Laurel Hill Care Center in Grants Pass, Oregon, from complications with multiple myeloma. She was 67 years old.
Born in Oregon City on August 1, 1947, the Fox family moved to Brookings where Yvonne graduated from Brookings-Harbor High School, a proud cheerleader for the Bruins and a member of Azalea Court. After college she relocated to Eugene, Oregon where she worked as an executive assistant for Sacred Heart Hospital and then for Rogue Community College in Grants Pass. This was followed by a move to Olympia, Washington where she launched her career in real estate that spanned 35 years, specializing in both commercial and residential property.
Yvonne loved theatre, appearing in productions throughout most of her life, including with The Barnstormers and Rogue Theatre. From the age of 20 she sang professionally, including local radio commercials. She also had a passion for cooking and opened a catering business in Grants Pass in the 1980's. She loved to travel, particularly cruising with her family.
She was the Exalted Ruler of the Medford Elks Lodge in 2009-10 carrying on a family tradition of Elks membership that her father Lloyd would have been so proud to see.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father Lloyd Fox, her mother, Yvonne 'Voni' Fox, and her sister Yvette Lenz-Fox.
Yvonne is survived by her daughter, Maria Battrick of Grants Pass, son Jonathan Thomas of Central Point and five beautiful grandchildren.
