Yasuko U. Fisher

Yasuko U. Fisher, age 87, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Private interment will be at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Yasuko Fisher was born March 10, 1923 in Okinawa, Japan. She married Willis E. Fisher and they had a son, Edward U. Fisher. In the early 1970’s Yasuko and her family moved to the United States. She spent her life making a home for her family. Throughout her life, Yasuko welcomed Japanese students into her home, to help them further their education in the United States.

Her hobbies included traveling, cooking, going to the spa and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include three grandchildren, Janet Fisher of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Jeffrey Fisher of Huntsville, Alabama and Marco Pace of Honolulu, Hawaii and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willis E. Fisher who died June 16, 1998 and a son, Edward U. Fisher who died November 20, 1997.
