Winifred Lucile Barrows

Winifred Lucile Barrows, age 94, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at her home.

A viewing will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, December 2, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Chuck Austin officiating. Interment will follow at Eagle Point National Cemetery.

Winifred was born March 25, 1919 in Miami, Florida to George & Elizabeth (Hickok) Smith. She earned a nursing degree and was a registered nurse for many years. After moving to California she was the pediatric unit head nurse at Riverside General Hospital in Riverside, California. In 1977 she moved from California to Grants Pass.

Winifred was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church since her baptism in 1929. She served as a kindergarten leader for over 40 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Cleo Doreen Allen; two grandchildren, Stefanie Lynn Allen and Cody Franklin Dragoo all of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, Mildred Sackett of Portland, Oregon; and a brother, Charles Erwin Smith of Asheville, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her husband, W. Frank Barrows on September 18, 2013.
