William R. “Bill” Forster, age 64, of Merlin, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Providence Medford Medical Center.
No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born January 19, 1950 in Providence, Rhode Island to Robert & Carmella Forster. He grew up and attended schools in Cranston, Rhode Island. After moving to California he graduated from high school in Anaheim. He served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1985 he married Gail Nelson. From 1969 to 1996 he worked for Pacific Bell. In June 1997 he moved from Riverside, California to Merlin.
From 2000, he served on the Merlin Park Board and served as board president.
His hobbies included fishing, woodworking, gardening, and reading. As a member of the Rogue Valley Gem and Geology Club, he also enjoyed collecting rocks and gems.
In addition to his wife, Gail Forster of Merlin, Oregon; survivors include, a daughter, Kalin Forster of Grants Pass, Oregon; a son, Thomas Forster of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Edward Forster of Alabama; his parents, Robert & Carmella Forster of Grants Pass, Oregon; and four grandchildren.
