William P. “Bake” Baker, Jr., age 62, of O’Brien, OR., passed away on Memorial Day, May 25, 2009.
Bill was born on April 8, 1947 in Jackson, MI. He attended St.John’s Catholic High School in Jackson and moved to Phoenix, AZ in August of 1962, where he later graduated from Bourgade Catholic High School. Bill served in the U.S. Army and is a Vietnam Veteran (Paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade). He retired from the U.S. Postal Service, Glendale, AZ, after 30 years of service.
Bill is the son of William Patrick and Marjorie H. Baker and was preceded in death by his Dad, Mom and Brother, Tom.
He is survived by his soul mate and wife, Carol “Ruby” Baker and son, Joseph “Joey” Michael Baker. Bill is also survived by his sisters, Margee Baker O’Connor, Mary Baker Welty, Patty Baker Vales and Michelle Baker Sheridan; 20 nieces and nephews and 17 great-nieces and nephews; and all of our dear friends. Bill was an extremely loving husband, father, brother, son and friend.
Please join us for a tip ‘o the glass in celebration of Bill's life on Sunday, June 14th, at Lis Doon Varna Irish Pub, 16100 N. Arrowhead Fountain Center Dr., Peoria, Arizona, from 4-6 p.m. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
