William Leslie O’Conner, age 83, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 at his home.
A memorial mass will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 29, 2007 at St Anne Catholic Church with Father Gregory Moys officiating. Inurnment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.

William was born November 29, 1923 in San Pedro, California to William & Elizabeth O’Conner. He attended high school at Los Angeles Cathedral High School. During World War II, he served in the United States Marine Corp. On July 4, 1944 in Santa Barbara, California he married Janet Hazel Gaffney who preceded him in death. For 35 years he was a Life Insurance Salesman. In 1985, he moved from Sierra Madre, California to Grants Pass.
He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church for 22 years, BPO Elks #1584, Eagles Lodge Aerie # 2146 for 22 years and Crazy Bunch RVers.
His hobbies included golfing, traveling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his daughter Kathleen McVeigh of Norco, California; son, Jim O’Conner of Grants Pass; brother, Patrick O’Conner of Arcadia, California, three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death was his wife Janet O’Conner who died in 2002 and his daughter, Christine O’Conner.
