William L. Oaks

William L. Oaks, age 49, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

Private services have been held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

William was born September 8, 1962 in Grants Pass to Leo & Molly Oaks. He attended Washington Elementary and Highland Elementary Schools, North Jr. High School and was a 1981 graduate of Grants Pass High School. He attended Oregon State University where he studied Horticulture and later attended Southern Oregon State College where he studied Biology & Botany. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Panama.

William achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

His hobbies included collecting lunch boxes and records. He was involved in local bowling leagues and was a member of the Oregon Bowlers Association.

Survivors include his father Leo Oaks and wife, Carol of Grants Pass; two sisters, Jo-Ann Oaks of Lake Stevens, Washington and Kari Oaks of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; a brother, Steven Oaks and wife, Angela of Sherwood, Oregon; a niece, Kaylynn Oaks of Sherwood, Oregon; an uncle, Michael Oaks of Grants Pass and an aunt, Jo-Ann Sequiest of Los Gatos, California.

His mother, Molly preceded him in death in 1990.
