William H. Phillips III, age 78, of Rogue River, died Saturday, March 29, 2008 at his home.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12 noon, Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will begin at 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford.
William was born November 3, 1929 in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. On December 14, 1956 in Southern California he married Estelle “Mignonne” Pierce who preceded him in death in 1995. From 1951 to 1972 he worked as a fitter at Southwest Welding in Alhambra, California. For 17 years he lived in Wimer and had lived in Rogue River for the last eight years. For 17 years he worked for Josephine County Schools as Maintenance Engineer.
His hobbies included vegetable and flower gardening, rock hounding, fishing, and lapidary work.
Survivors include a daughter Pamela J. Reynolds of San Jacinto, California; his companion of ten years, Donna Watt of Rogue River; three sisters, Shirley Owens of central California, Judy Arribere of Snow Valley, California and Barbara Hesselgesser of San Gabriel, California; two brothers, David Phillips of Fallbrook, California and Donald Phillips of Pomona, California; two grandchildren, Brian James Reynolds of Wooster, Ohio and Kari Anne Reynolds of Rancho Cucamonga, California; twelve nephews and seven nieces including, Debora Comey of Oceanside, California, David A. Phillips II of Bonsall, California, William M. Phillips of Avenal, California.
He was preceded in death by sister, Marilyn Ockman in 1956 and brother, Robert Phillips in 1994.
