William Glenn Stotts (Bill), 68 - Our beloved husband, father, son & brother passed away Sunday, August 24, after a long battle with Heart Disease and lung cancer.
A funeral service will be at 4:00 p.m., Friday, August 29, 2008 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Father Ronald Nelson officiating. Private mausoleum entombment will be at All Souls Cemetery and Mausoleum in Long Beach, California. Arrangements entrusted to Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
Born September 13, 1939 to Lawrence and Olive Stotts in Boulder, Co. He was just 6 months old when the family moved to Phoenix AZ . Although living miles away, he always considered Phoenix home. After graduating from Phoenix Union High School, Bill proudly served in the United States Army as well as the Army Reserves. After his return from the Army he obtained his private pilots license. Bill had a love of flight that he shared with his brother Robert and friends. He also loved car racing and was a fan of Indy and NASCAR. His years of employment went from owning a Richfield Service Station in Phoenix to working for Sunbeam Bread Co and later driving longhaul truck for Ray Lumber. Bill earned the one million mile award and several safety awards. After moving to Grants Pass, Oregon in the early 1980''s he worked as an independent truck driver for a number of years before purchasing the Rogue River Texico Gas station, following which he owned Bill''s Auto & Muffler. Most recently, Bill worked for Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Oregon.
Bill was loved and admired by all who knew him. He worked hard and had a generous and caring heart. He and his family have been very touched by the out-pouring of support from his co-workers at the hospital and forever thankful for their generosity and that of his neighbors. Although gone from this life onto his eternal home, his legacy of love will comfort and inspire us all.
Bill''s memory is cherished by his survivors which include his beloved wife of 16 years Linda Jean Stotts of Rouge River, OR; his daughter Shelley Clark and her husband Kendall and granddaughters Crystal Scioly of Spokane WA; Tanya Clark of Beaverton OR; KayCee Clark of Spokane WA; his son Richard Stotts of Tacoma WA. He is also survived by his mother Olive Stotts of Phoenix, AZ; brother Robert Stotts and his wife Mary Ann of Burbank, CA: sister, Olivia Anderson and her husband Lloyd of Gilbert, AZ; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father Lawrence Stotts.
Friends and Family are encouraged to make contributions in memory of William G Stotts to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.
