William C. “Bill” Simpson Jr, age 84, of Grants Pass, died Friday, January 23, 2009 at his home.
A memorial service will be held at later date in California. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Bill was born July 16, 1924 in Fulton, Maryland to William & Dorothy Simpson. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army. After the war, he stayed in Korea where he worked as a cook. Beginning in 1952 he worked as an electrician until his retirement in 1987. In 1954 in Reno, Nevada he married Irene Scott who preceded him in death. He lived in the same home in Southern California from 1956 until December 2004 when he moved to Grants Pass.
He was a member of IBEW Local 441 Orange County and Calvary Chapel of Westminster, California.
His hobbies included fishing, traveling, camping, building puzzles, watching sports, and attending ball games. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and his dog, Jake. He loved sneaking off with his grandson, Travis to Hometown Buffet.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Delano of Mojave Valley, Arizona; a son, James Simpson of Grants Pass; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
