Wayne Allen Mendonca, age 67, of Rogue River, died Monday, June 20, 2020 at Providence Medford Medical Center.
Wayne was born to John Fernandez Mendonca Jr and Bernice Rita (Neves) on May 28, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He grew up in Fremont, California until he joined the United States Army in 1969; while serving in Vietnam he was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Silver Stars, and one Bronze Star.
In 1986, Wayne married Terri and the couple moved to Rogue River in 2005. He loved people and was a helpful neighbor and will always be remembered as a loving father and husband…especially for his laughter and love of old cars.
Wayne’s memberships included AmVets, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.
His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and collecting old record albums.
Survivors include his wife Teresa Paris Mendonca; children Forrest Mendonca, Russ Paris, Kimberly Vassiliadis and Amy Carlton; sister Colleen Mendonca Smith, Malcolm and Paul Mendonca; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother Cedric Mendonca and his parents
