Wayne Andrew Nissen

Wayne Andrew Nissen, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at Forest Meadows Residential Care Facility in Grants Pass.

Memorial services will take place at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery in Petersburg, Illinois. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of local arrangements.

He was born on October 13, 1917 in Petersburg, Illinois to Hans and Elizabeth Nissen. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. After the war, Wayne was a Warehouse Supervisor for City Transfer & Storage Co. and Allied Van Lines in San Francisco, California for over 30 years. He lived with his family in San Bruno, California from 1955 to 2002.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlingame, California.

Survivors include one son, James L. Nissen of Grants Pass; four grandsons and one granddaughter, and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Velma Frances Nissen in 1981 and his second wife Anise (Eileen) Nissen in 2001; sister, Leona Williams and daughter Linda.
