Wanda Lee Dunn, age 85, of Grants Pass, died January 26, 2019 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Wanda was born June 20, 1933 in Fresno, California. In 1948 in Fresno she married Charles “Billy D” Edward Dunn and in 1965 they moved to Grants Pass. While raising her three daughters, Wanda worked nights as a certified nursing assistant at Josephine Memorial Hospital in the nursery. She also helped her husband, Chef Billy Dunn on weekends. In 1983 she retired from the hospital and started working fulltime with her husband.
All their life together Wanda assisted her husband with large catering parties, conference center catering, catering truck, BBQ restaurant, and resort catering. She thoroughly enjoyed working side by side with him. At times the entire family worked the catering business.
Wanda was a member of Grace Fellowship.
Her hobbies included gardening, keeping her yard, artistic drawing and painting, and creating dance costumes and school outfits for her girls. She was all in with her girls’ activities including holding frogs on the river bank.
Survivors include three daughters, Connie Holseybrook and Cheryl “Cheri” Cribbs both of Grants Pass; and Laura McCoy of Laveen, Arizona; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother, Vern Smith.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Pastor Pete Allen officiating.
