Wanda Jean Leonard “The Quilt Lady,” went home to be with the Lord on January 3, 2018.
Wanda was born May 28, 1928 in Arkadelphia, Arkansas to Christopher & Eva Shepherd. On March 10, 1944 she married Clayburn Leonard in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas. They moved to Oregon in October 1950.
Wanda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent many years helping her husband run his business before starting her own business operating her quilt shop. Other than her love for the Lord and her family, her personal passion was quilting. She created many beautiful quilts of her own in addition to the hundreds of quilts she finished for others on her long arm quilting machine. She also enjoyed giving quilts as gifts and donating them to charitable organizations.
Wanda faithfully attended the Church of God on Florence Lane where she built many lasting friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher & Eva Shepherd; her brother, Jay Shepherd; sister, Tiney Stewart; husband, Clay Leonard and son, Jesse Leonard.
She leaves behind son, Lonnie Leonard and his wife Linda; son, Bill Leonard and his wife Melanie; son, Gary Leonard; and daughter, Tammy Hotch and her husband Kevin; grandchildren, Carolyn, Matt, Missy, Mike, Chris and Nina; great-grandchildren, Walker, Georgia, Madeline, Gracie, and Gavin; and brother, Charles (Bud) Shepherd.
