Walter James Hodkin, age 79, of Grants Pass, passed away, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at his home.
Walt was born February 19, 1936 in Boulder, Colorado. Shortly thereafter, his family moved to Southern California where Walt enjoyed the ocean beaches in the L.A. area. Walt’s friend Roger Darby introduced Walt to the High Sierras June Lake area where he enjoyed many years fishing, hunting, and hiking, and where for a short time, he was actually a ski instructor. Additionally, Walt enjoyed shooting, motorcycle riding in the desert, and golf. He was also very fond of cars and had a variety of different automobiles during his life.
Walt was an entrepreneur with a variety of ventures including car salesman, real estate, office building cleaning business, boat building, railroad reclamation, and others.
Walt moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 2002 where he enjoyed trap shooting, golf, squirrel hunting, and daily journeys to local coffee shops where he visited with many acquaintances.
He was preceded in death by his father Walter Hodkin; his mother Margariete Hodkin; and his daughter Debra Rose Hunter.
He is survived by his grandson Jason Hunter of Santa Ana, California.

A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Whittier, California– Sky Terrace Gardens.
