Walter "Charlie" Brown

Walter “Charlie” Brown, age 72, of Selma, died Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

A private memorial service has been held for family. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the Rogue Valley Humane Society, 429 NW Scenic Drive, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Charlie was born January 2, 1940 in Tabor, Iowa to Charles & Esther Brown. He lived in Selma for the past 12 years and for many years worked at Fire Mountain Gems where he had many friends.

Charlie especially loved being a Papa to his grandchildren. He also enjoyed his furry companion, Patch.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Linda Higgins-Brown; a brother, Gordon Brown and wife Kathy of Roseburg, Oregon; four daughters, Heather Bemetz and husband, Darryl of Roseburg, Oregon, Michelle Martin and husband Todd of Glendale, Arizona, Stephanie Moskal and husband Scott of Niskayuna, New York, and Angela Carter and husband Adrian of Discovery Bay, California; parents-in-law, Tom & Jeannine Higgins of Selma, Oregon ; four grandchildren, Blaine Williams, Garrett Moskal, Carson Moskal and Aribella Carter; and many nieces and nephews.
