Vivian Marie Fredenburg

Vivian Marie Fredenburg, age 89, of Grants Pass, died Monday, April 28, 2014 at Highland House Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 2, 2014 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

Marie was born January 5, 1925 in John Day, Oregon. In 1943 she married Don Bowman and they had four children. He preceded her in death in 1960 and in 1965 she married George Fredenburg and they had one child together. She also adopted a daughter and had one stepdaughter. Over the years, she fostered many children through the State of California. In 1979 she moved from Crescent City, California to Grants Pass. While living in Grants Pass she provided day care for many more children.

Marie volunteered her time with her church and as an art teacher at Vacation Bible School in Crescent City.

She enjoyed beachcombing and crafts.

Survivors include her seven children; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, and ten siblings.
