Virginia K. Whitlock

On January 19, 2024, our beloved Virginia K. Whitlock passed away at the age of 84 while in the comfort of her home.

Virginia was born to Tom and Mary Dotson in Richmond, California on June 16, 1939, the oldest of two daughters. In 1958, she married Merle Whitlock, and together they had three daughters. They moved to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1969 in search of a better place to raise their family. Virginia began working at Valley of the Rogue Bank in the summer of 1977 and retired 15 years later.

Virginia had many interests that she passionately pursued, and her favorite of all was spending time with family. She was a marvelous cook and especially loved cooking during her favorite holiday: Thanksgiving. Friends were also a very important part of her life as was Bible study and Christian fellowship. She enjoyed her roses, gardening, bird feeding/watching, kites, quilt shows, hot air balloons, boat races on the Rogue River, traveling, watching drag races, and exercise. She loved Corvettes, and she and Merle were once Corvette Club members.

Virginia is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, Merle; her sister Carol; her daughters: Laura (husband Steve), Pam (husband Chris), and Jana; and four grandsons. We love her immensely, miss her dearly, and are extremely thankful for having been a part of her life.
