Virginia Louisa Peterson

Virginia Louisa Peterson, age 90, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at Three Rivers Medical Center.

No services are planned. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Virginia was born June 12, 1922 in Ontario, Canada to John Warner and Frances Woodley. Early in her life they moved to the United States. In 1944 she met Pete Peterson and soon after married. In 1958 they moved from the mining community of Tungsten, Nevada to Grants Pass. Shortly after moving to Grants Pass they purchased their first home in the Wilderville area where she lived until she passed away. She worked for Dr. Hogin as an Optician for a number of years.

Virginia enjoyed her life at home gardening and working on her property. She was an excellent seamstress and many of the clothes that her grandchildren wore were ones that she had made. Crossword puzzles were a challenge that she loved and she enjoyed anything that kept her mind sharp.

Virginia was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include a step-son, Lynn Peterson of Grants Pass; a son, Bill Bagwell of Grants Pass; grandchildren, Debbie Bagwell of Grants Pass, Willie Bagwell of New York, Virginia Spencer of West Virginia; Tyler Peterson of Grants Pass and Casina Peterson of Grants Pass.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Peterson on April 21, 1978; a daughter, Tencey Elizabeth Bagwell; a son, Jeffrey Warnick Peterson and a grandchild, Wade Bagwell.
