Virginia Darlene O’Donnell, age 85, of Rogue River, died Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at Three Rivers Medical Center.
A viewing will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2013 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Rogue Valley Community Church with Pastor Steve West officiating. Private interment will be at Woodville Cemetery.

Darlene was born October 24, 1927 in Ord, Nebraska to Clarence & Olive Guggenmos. Her younger years were spent mostly in Nebraska and two years in Grants Pass, Oregon. Her family also lived in Wyoming, Washington, and Lompoc, California where she graduated from high school in 1944. On March 10, 1945 in Ventura, California she married Robert C. O’Donnell. She lived in Ojai, California for many years until moving to Texas. She was a homemaker and also worked in nursing homes as a caregiver for many years. In December 1994 she moved from Texas to Rogue River, Oregon.
Darlene was a member of Rogue Valley Community Church.
Her hobbies included gardening; reading, especially Christian fiction; word games; and spending time with her dog, Opal. She especially loved her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Ginny Wetterlund of Edmond, Oklahoma and Joanne Thorpe of Ojai, California; a son, Daniel O’Donnell of Rogue River, Oregon; two sisters, Mickie Miedecke and Sharry Watt both of Ojai, California; a brother, Virgil Guggenmos of Eugene, Oregon; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert O’Donnell in 1991; a son, Kenneth O’Donnell in 2008; a daughter, Patricia Betts in 2012; a grandson, Kenneth Chambers in 1974; three brothers, Eldon Guggenmos, Richard Guggenmos, and Gary Guggenmos; and a sister, Betty Bilbrey.
