Thomas Leroy Day, 64, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at his home.

A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor Marvin Clark officiating. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church (for the Dorcas Community Service Center), 1360 NE 9th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Thomas was born January 27, 1942 in San Diego, California and grew up in Southern California. In the mid 1970s he moved with his wife, Linda to Oregon. He then lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for ten years. In December 2001 he returned to Oregon and lived in Grants Pass. He completed his GED through Rogue Community College, graduated from the Moving On Program, and was seeking a bachelor’s degree. His studies included math, history, writing, arts & crafts – pottery. Thomas wanted to be a writer and will be dearly missed by his loved ones and his extended church family.

He was a member of the Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church.

He volunteered with Dorcas Society through his church and with the Vitality Center.

He hobbies included pottery, writing, and weightlifting at the YMCA.

Survivors include three children, Heather Viramontes of Scottsville, Kentucky, Artie Viramontes of Roseburg, and Tiffiny Green of Adolphus, Kentucky; a sister, Mary A. Hunt of Grants Pass; a brother, Ernest C. Day of Grants Pass; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil E. Day and Dolores K. Day; and his wife, Linda Day.
