Thomas Larry Ward, age 79, a former 52-year resident of Gold Hill, Oregon joined his Heavenly Father; earthly parents, elder siblings and wife of 39 years, Sunday, January 12, 2020.
Born November 27, 1940 in Seattle, Washington, 8th out of 10 children to Alfred and Mildred Ward. Tom grew up, along with his six brothers, learning the carpentry trade working in California within the Carpenters Union until the mid-60s, then traveling North with his young family chasing employment as far as Alaska, and in 1968 finding “home” in Gold Hill. Several years later, he and his wife, Lourie opened their own cabinet shop, Ward’s Custom Cabinets, later returning to the Carpenters Union in the 80s to finish out his career as Project Manager for the Gregory Group in the Bay Area.
He and his wife, Lourie, who passed in April of 1997, were married 39 years and have four surviving children: Peggy Lynn, Laura Lee, Larry William, and Tomi Brook, along with sons-in-law, Scott and Dale. He also has three surviving siblings: Hank, Dan, and Gary Ward and brother-in-law Dennis Revia; seven grandchildren: Mike, Amanda, Kris, Avery, Kyle, Mitch and Adam; six great-grandchildren: Hannah, Caleb, Brooklyn, Natalie, Abbie, and Tom-Tom. Not to mention his beloved nieces, nephews, and many adored friends who he thought of as family, all who will greatly miss their Dad, Grandpa, Uncle and Friend of unforgettable character.
Services to take place Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Edgewater Christian Fellowship.
