Thomas L. Arnett, age 78, of Cave Junction, died Sunday, September 6, 2015 at his home.
Thomas was born June 18, 1937 in Roswell, New Mexico to Lloyd & Zella Arnett. As an infant, he moved with his family to California and grew up in Oakdale, California. He graduated from Oakdale High School where he played football. He then attended Delta College in Stockton where he also played quarterback on the football team. He was a reservist in the California National Guard. While in high school, Thomas met Judy Lee Martin and they were married May 18, 1957 at the Methodist Church in Oakdale. Over the years he worked as a farmer and a charter bus driver. In 1998 he moved from Modesto, California to Cave Junction.
Thomas volunteered as a baseball and basketball coach for his son’s teams.
He especially enjoyed farming, watching the 49ers and dancing.
Survivors include two sons, Brian Arnett of Deerfield Beach, Florida and Darrin Arnett of Cave Junction, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Janice Arnett of Oakdale, California; and a grandchild, Bruce Arnett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Arnett in 2008; a son, John Arnett in 2002; a daughter, Julie Arnett in 1984; and a brother, Bob Arnett in 2014.
A memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Illinois Valley Funeral Directors in Cave Junction.
The family has requested no flowers to be sent to the service.
