Thomas E. Deardorff

Thomas E. Deardorff, age 50, of Grants Pass, died Thursday, September 24, 2009 at his home.

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Parkway Christian Center with Pastor Ken Bern officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born May 1, 1959 in Crescent City, California. He moved from Crescent City to Grants Pass 45 years ago. In 1978 he graduated from Hidden Valley High School. On October 12, 1991 in Grants Pass, he married Sharon Owens. For 18 years he worked as a fork lift driver for Spalding Mill. He then owned and operated Lawn Hopper, a yard maintenance business for five years. In 2005 he was diagnosed with colon cancer.

His hobbies included four wheeling, motorcycle riding, skiing, NASCAR, and disc golf.

In addition to his wife, Sharon Deardorff; he is survived by his mother, Shirley (Wilson) Deardorff; two sisters, Katie Armstrong and Patti Blunk; and his granddaughter, Ava Cole all of Grants Pass.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Aimee Deardorff, who died May 14, 2009; his father, Fianis Deardorff, and a sister, Dee Dee Deardorff.
