Thomas D. Greene, age 56, of Selma, died Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at his home.
Private services have been held. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Thomas was born October 4, 1955 in Yakima, Washington to Garfield and Winnabelle Greene. He was a graduate of John Yates High School in Suffolk, Virginia. As a self-employed Journeyman Carpenter Craftsman he worked in Virginia, Arizona, Oregon, Washington and California building custom homes. He retired his hammer two years ago due to illness. He moved from Keno, Oregon to Selma four years ago.
Thomas was a member of Fountain of Life Assembly of God and also attended Bridgeview Community Church and Selma Baptist Church. Weekly, he participated in men’s bible study.
His hobbies included rock hounding, camping, hunting, fishing, motorcycling and being an outdoorsman.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine “Cat” Greene of Selma; step-daughter, Erika Mason and husband Aaron of San Diego, California; two brothers, David G. Greene and wife Julie of Smithfield, Virginia and John B. Greene of Liberty, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Chelsea and Aurora Mason of San Diego, California; two nephews, John Paul Greene of North Carolina and Jesse Greene of Virginia.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Garfield & Winnabelle Greene.
