Theadore V. Brown

Theadore V. Brown, age 86, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, November 7, 2010 at his home.

A memorial service will be at 12 noon, Thursday, November 11, 2010 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Merlin Ward (339 Jumpoff Joe Creek Road, Hugo). Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

He was born January 17, 1924 in Lynden, Washington. On August 16, 1943 in Spokane, Washington, he joined the United States Army and served in France, Germany, and England and was in the Battle of Rhineland in Central Europe. He was shot, wounded and captured and held at Auschwitz for almost five months receiving the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, Silver Star, European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and World War II Victory Ribbon and Lapel Buttons. After his military service he worked in oil fields and held many odd jobs including Josephine County School District as a janitor.

He loved to help people and was the first to volunteer his time.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He loved his pets and listening to waves crash on ocean beaches.

He was “The Best of the Best” and I will always miss him. Rest in Peace, My Teady Bear. Love, Robin
