Ted Davis, age 80, of Kerby, died January 13, 2016 at his home.
He was born James Rhodes Gorham Jr on July 11, 1935 in Biddeford, Maine. At age 17 while living in Pasadena, California he was adopted and became Theodore Wesley Davis Jr. During the Korean War He served in the United States Navy until his honorable discharge and never lost his love of the ocean and its ships. On November 26, 1960 he married Lloydeen Philipsen. He attended the University of Alaska and later worked at a Los Angeles County Reforestation Nursery. In 1972 he moved with his family to the Illinois Valley and became a Park Ranger at the Oregon Caves. He loved working at both places. In May 1994, he retired from the Park Service.
He is survived by his wife, Lloydeen K. Davis of 55 wonderful years; three wonderful daughters, Lynsta K. Bemis, Katrina M. Davis, Trinalyn K. Wilson; three terrific grandchildren, Brian S. Bemis, Heather L. Bemis, and Adam C. Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anna Lord Davis; his father, Theodore Wesley Davis Sr; and his birth father, James Rhodes Gorham Sr.
Ted loved his life and continually told this to his family and friends.
His greatest love was God and Jesus.
Graveside services with honors will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2016 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Illinois Valley Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
