Suzanne Marie Cray Thayer, age 62, passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at home in Selma, Oregon in her sleep, after a long illness.

She was born in Lebanon, Oregon and was the first of four children born to Frank and Myrtle Cray. Sue attended St. Edward's grade school, Mt. Angel Academy and graduated from Lebanon Union High School in 1962. She worked for many years in the restaurant business, as a business owner and as an in-home caregiver. She married Jesse Thayer in Portland on October 1st, 1974, and he preceded her in death.

Sue is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Vicky & Eric Tucker (Selma, OR), brothers Michael Cray (Portland), Ted Cray (Boise, ID) and Jack Cray (Albany); and six nieces and nephews. Also surviving our Sue's three stepchildren; Sherry Wills (Estacada), Jesse Thayer Jr. (Grants Pass), Yvonne Roadman (Portland), 12 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Sue enjoyed traveling, photography, and writing, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was always willing to help someone in need and will be greatly missed.
