Stanley Stanford Robinson, age 88, of Glendale, died Sunday, November 27, 2011 at Roseburg VA Medical Center.
A viewing will be from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.
A funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Hull & Hull Chapel. Interment with military honors will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, December 5, 2011 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
Stanley was born January 20, 1923 in Bay Point, California to Clarence & Ina Robinson. During World War II he served in the United States Army in the South Pacific. On July 2, 1967 in Durant, Oklahoma Stanley married Neva Mangrum. For many years he owned and operated a mechanic shop and gas station. He then worked as a maintenance machinist for many years. Stanley moved from San Jose, California to Glendale 37 years ago.
Stanley was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a scuba diver and a pilot and flew planes until age 76. He was an inventor and enjoyed woodworking and making things.
In addition to his wife, Neva Robinson of Glendale, Oregon; he is survived by five daughters, Nancy Clover of Santa Rosa, California, Linda Cardone of Cotati, California, Debbie Kindrick of Azalea, Oregon, Terri Odle of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Colleen Robinson of Tualatin, Oregon; two brothers, Leo Robinson of Yountville, California and Vince Robinson of Forest Hill, California; ten grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Steve Robinson and survived by Steve’s wife, Toni Robinson of Pleasanton, California and their children, Christine Robinson of Los Angeles, California and Amy Eygabroat of Pleasanton, California.
