Stanley Selby Steward

Stanley Selby Steward, age 80, of Grants Pass, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at his home.

A gathering of family and friends will be at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Calvary Chapel on Harbeck Avenue, Grants Pass. Private interment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Assemblies of God, World Missions, 1445 N. Booneville Avenue, Springfield, Missouri 65802 (Euphrates Project #283543-68)

Stanley was born November 18, 1933 in Savannah, Georgia to Ida Mae (Barrett) Steward & William McKinley Steward. In 1936 he moved to Coquille, Oregon. In 1952 he joined the United States Navy and served until his honorable discharge in 1956 in San Diego. In 1956 he married Mary Smith. He moved from San Diego to Grants Pass 14 years ago.

Stanley is survived by his wife, Mary Magdalene Steward; a daughter, Brenda Lyn Steward-Peters; and six grandchildren, Christian Peters, Alexis Peters, Nicholas Peters, Chase Peters, Elyse Steward, and Stanley Steward III.

He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Selby Steward Jr; his parents; two sisters, Margaret Ann O’Dell and Shirley Mae Timmons; and four brothers, Melvin William Steward, Everett Edward Steward, Harold Fredrick Steward and James Walter Steward.
