Skylar Anne Pettit, age 12, of Grants Pass, died Saturday, March 17, 2007.
A celebration of life will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 23, 2007 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Center, 1969 Williams Highway, Grants Pass. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to the Pettit/Hauptman Memorial Fund, c/o any branch of Bank of the Cascades.
Skylar was born April 21, 1994 in Grants Pass. She attended local grade schools and was a 6th grade student at South Middle School where she participated in the choir. She was studying to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Her favorite hobby was singing. She also enjoyed summer camp with the young women of the LDS church, painting ceramics, camping, swimming, playing musical instruments, animals of all kinds, and spending time with family and friends.
Skylar had many friends, always had a bright smile and wanted everyone around her to be the same. She did her best to make everyone happy.
She is survived by her father, Gary Pettit of Murphy; her mother and stepfather, Trisha Thomas & Brian Mumford of Grants Pass; brothers and sisters, Gary Pettit Jr of Portland, Patrick Pettit, Amanda Pettit, Brandon Childers, and Tynyel Childers all of Grants Pass; grandparents, Billie Salzmann of Vancouver, Washington, Robert Pettit of Murphy; Robert & Cathy Mumford, Joe & Terri Childers, Lila Lynch & Robert Salzmann all of Grants Pass,and Leroy Thomas of Colorado; great-grandmother, Frieda Sutton of Aumsville; aunts and uncles, Jimmy & Keely Best, Johny Best, and Bill Best all of Washington, Michael & Tara Thomas of Colorado, Tamra & John Day of Medford, Candi Stange of Grants Pass, Chad & Naomi Salzmann of Grants Pass; David Mumford & Kristy Arias of Grants Pass, Sue Dees and Tracy Kienholz of Grants Pass, Vernon Sutton of Aumsville, Merle & Sue Sutton of Gresham, Charlene Nelson of Grants Pass and Suzane; and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Dorthy Brickey in 2005 and her uncle, Patrick Pettit in 2002.
