Shonnah Joy Ivie

Shonnah Joy Ivie, age 61, of Grants Pass, Oregon, passed away peacefully on Thursday, 25th April, 2019, at Highland House in Grants Pass.

Known to all who loved her as Joy, she was born on 24th September, 1957 in Ontario, Oregon, and moved to her parent’s home town of Grants Pass as an infant. Joy attended Redwood Elementary School, South Middle School, and Grants Pass High School. She loved to volunteer at the Merlin Senior Meal Site, and spent her time doing things she enjoyed most – crocheting, reading, visiting with family and friends, and in recent years had lots of fun singing Karaoke.

Joy married her first husband, Ernest Coleman in 1976. The couple divorced in 1978. In December 1978, Joy married Dorance Ivie in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Joy worked as a Housekeeper before becoming a stay-at-home mom to raise two children.

Joy is the beloved mother of two doting children, Shonnah (Anderton), her daughter, and Archie Ivie, her son, and grandmother of two beautiful grandchildren, Zaily Ivie and Robby Anderton. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Carol Spurling, a niece, and several nephews. Joy was preceded in death by her husband; father, Andy Anderson; mother, Harriet Anderson; twin brother; and sister.

A graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Granite Hill Cemetery with a celebration of life potluck following at Bethel Christian Center, 1095 Rogue River Highway, Grants Pass.
