Shirley Rose Bertagnolli, age 75, of Grants Pass, died February 23, 2022 at Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center.
Shirley was born November 13, 1946 in Birmingham, Alabama to Charles & Hazel Branham. She was a member of the Cherokee-Wolf Creek Indian tribe in Virginia. She grew up in Birmingham, lived for a time in Chicago before moving to Southern California. She served in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army in Survival and obtained the rank of Sergeant. In the early 1980s she moved from Simi Valley, California to Grants Pass. Over the years she worked in various occupations including: owned and operated Nulook Upholstery, Scenic Manor Adult Foster Home; and North Slope Pit rock quarry in Jacksonville; as well as worked in local restaurants.
Together with her husband, she was active in the Grants Pass Elks #1584 and Eagles #2146 Lodges.
Her hobbies included gambling, playing bingo, and sewing. She also sang in a country western band. Shirley loved her family and loved helping others.
Survivors include her husband Jerry Bertagnolli of Grants Pass; children Malinda Mostowa, Anita McCue, and Sherry Brass all of Grants Pass and Terry Sarver of Crescent City, California; sister Marie Binstein; 24 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Willis Sarver; daughter Tina Wheeling; granddaughter Cambree Wheeling; grandson Ryan Sarver; and brother Charles Branham.
A graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m., March 6, 2022 at Wilderville Cemetery.
A celebration of life will follow at the home of Jerry Bertagnoli.
