Sharon Kay Wilson, age 83 of Grants Pass, OR died Friday, Dec 4, 2020, at her home. Sharon was born April 2, 1937 in the New Sweden area of Idaho Falls Idaho.
She graduated from Idaho Falls high school in 1955. She was an Idaho girl and lived in Swan Valley, Minidoka, Rupert, and Declo. She later moved to Grants Pass to get away from the snow and be near the ocean.
She imparted her love of many things to all of us kids: Flower gardening, loved birds (except for magpies - story about that later), feeding homemade and, carefully rotated from freezer to fridge, sugar water, to hummingbirds, fondly called hummers, and peanuts to Stellar Jays. Dancing, cracking jokes, being Swedish which included a fierce pride in being stubborn, the ocean, finding sea glass, and travelling with Burnie. She always wanted to travel but didn't think she'd get too far out of Idaho. We all wanted to take her to Disney Land but never got to. I don't think she missed much there and is enjoying so much more, to the fullest, now.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Oscar Uno Holmer and Blanche Brown Holmer, brother Roy La Mar Holmer, first husband Arvey Kenyon Weeks, Second husband Joseph "JJ" McLaws, and third husband Burnie Jo Clark Wilson.
Survivors include mom’s children: Karie (Bob) Miller Rupert ID, Dirk (Terri) Weeks Rupert ID, Ellen (Bob) Fox Casper WY, Leslie (Travis) Rathe Spokane WA, and many beloved step kids whom were near and dear to her heart and took such great care of her along with dear friends and neighbors who feel like family too.
Her legacy lives on through 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild, and the many hearts she’s touched.
