In Loving Remembrance of Shan Yvonne Chaffee, Grants Pass

With a heavy heart the Family of Shan Yvonne Chaffee announce her passing at home on December 22, 2021 after a two-year battle with cancer. Shan worked for many years as an in-home caregiver in which she touched many lives with her loving care and dedication. Shan will be remembered for many things among those are: her traditional classy appearance, her sense of humor, and her unconditional love of all who entered her life.

Shan leaves behind an extended family that loved and cared for her. Among those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 17 years David Chaffee, sons Rodney McDonald of Arkansas, Brian (Tiffany)McDonald of Florida, Brothers Chad (Debie) Smith of Missouri, and Craig Smith of Grants Pass. Grandchildren Tessa and Hadden McDonald of Florida, Jennifer Chaffee of Grants Pass, Karin, Katie, and Kristina Rathbone of Alaska. Shan was also deeply loved by her Mother-in-law Yvonne Chaffee who Shan provided caregiving to for many years after retirement and her many siblings and cousins by marriage.

Shan is preceded in death by her parents Ardith and Sam Smith.

No services are planned at this time, however there will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks for your donations to your favorite breast cancer foundation and/or your local Hospice.
