Selma Connolly

Selma Connolly, age 99, of Grants Pass, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at an adult foster home.

A graveside service will be held in Spring 2015 at Edmore Cemetery in Edmore, North Dakota. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Remembrances may be made to Lovejoy Hospice, 939 SE 8th Street, Grants Pass, Oregon 97526.

Selma was born February 17, 1915 on a farm in Edmore, North Dakota to Nels & Nora (Biri) Elshaug. She received her early education from Newland School. On July 23, 1934 in Devils Lake, North Dakota she married W. Robert Connolly. She worked with her husband on his family farm until 1975 when they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon.

Selma was a member of the Edmore Methodist Church, Order of Eastern Star Josephine Chapter #26, and her Sharing & Caring group.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed the outdoors, crocheting and knitting afghans, reading, sharing and caring group, and in her younger years bowling and square dancing.

Survivors include two daughters, Margaret St. Charles of Garden Valley, California and Joan Louise Anderson of Merlin, Oregon; three sons, W. Robert Connolly Jr and Jonathan D. Connolly both of Grants Pass, Oregon and Gerald P. Connolly of Sylmar, California; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Selma was preceded in death by her husband, W. Robert Connolly on June 11, 1992; her son, James M. Connolly on July 23, 1975; three sisters, Elda Moen, Marion Dowling, and Lorraine Elshaug; three brothers, Florn Elshaug, Norris Elshaug, and Johnny Elshaug; and two sisters, Alvida Anderson and Ruth Olson.
