Scott Michael Aaland

Scott Michael Aaland, age 54, of Grants Pass, died Tuesday, October 21, 2008 at his home.

A recitation of the rosary will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008 at St. Patrick’s of the Forest Catholic Church, 407 W. River St., Cave Junction, Oregon.

A memorial mass will follow at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008 at St. Patrick’s of the Forest Catholic Church with Monsignor Gregory Moys officiating. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Scott was born October 18, 1954 in Seattle, Washington. On September 13, 1980 he married Laura M. Sipiora. They lived in Cave Junction for 23 years before moving to Grants Pass a year and a half ago. Scott was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Despite his daily struggles of being bound to a wheelchair, he always had the biggest smile in the room. His optimistic outlook and deep faith kept him going strong. Scott found happiness and laughter when spending time with his wife, Laura of 26 years, his two daughters, Shawna and Danielle, son-in-law, Kevin Snavely and granddaughters, Marley & Avery Snavely. Scott was blessed with patience and courage.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Aaland of Cave Junction; two daughters, Shawna & Danielle Aaland; two brothers, Steve Aaland of California and Terry Aaland of Cave Junction and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donna & Richard Aaland and a sister, Lisa Wise.
