Sarah "Sally" Jane Michell

Sally Michell passed away on July 20, 2006 in her home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Sally was born in Duluth, MN July 15, 1926 graduating from Duluth Central High School in 1944, Rockford College in 1948, and later received her teaching certificate from Fullerton College in Fullerton, California. Sally taught in the La Habra City School District for nearly 30 years as an elementary and special education teacher. Sally loved her summer adventures on many Elherhostel trips around the country where she met many new people and continued her love of learning. Following retirement Sally moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where she made many new and dear friends. Sally is survived by her son David (Irene) Vanoski, sister Priscilla Runquist, White Bear Lake MN, many nieces and nephews, as well as her wonderful supportive friends and her dog Walter Basset. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, daughter Sarah, and son Tom. Sally was a member of Hillcrest Congregational Church, La Habra Heights, CA, PEO Chapter EX and AAUW. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at her home on Thursday July 27, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Memorials preferred to the donors choice.
