Sandra Lee Mercer

Sandra Lee Mercer, age 45, of Grants Pass, died August 16, 2023, at her home.

Sandra was born September 28, 1977 in Fontana, California. After graduating from Trona High School in Trona, California, she received a full academic scholarship to Michigan State.  Unfortunately she was unable to attend due to kidney stones & chronic migraines. Later in life she survived kidney cancer, heart disease, removal of most of her stomach, and heart value surgery.

Sandra worked at Black Bear Diner in Grants Pass where she loved her co-workers and customers.

After her second heart value surgery in April, she never fully recovered. She was the toughest person and also the most loving.

She is survived by an older brother, her husband and two children.  She will be dearly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 6:00p.m., Monday, August 28, 2023 at Black Bear Diner for friends and family.
