Sandy was born September 28, 1947 in Bisbee, Arizona to Roy & Mary Owens. She was a happy little girl, always laughing and having fun. In 1954 she and her family moved to Wilmington, California and in 1965 she graduated from Carson High School. Always adventurous, after graduation she and a girlfriend drove to Anchorage, Alaska where they lived about six months before selling Sandy’s car to fly home. In 1970 she moved to Grants Pass to be near her parents. She worked at various jobs including Rogue River Supper Club, Sparc Enterprises, as caregiver to a blind man, and the last 12 years at B Street Market. In 1976 her son, Michael was born and she devoted her life to taking care of him and later his two children, Raeanne and Nate.
Sandy was a wonderful daughter, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family, phoning her parents several times a day “just checking in.” Even during her own cancer pain, she cared for her parents during their illnesses.
She loved flower gardening.
Sandy is survived by a son, Michael Johnson and his wife, Krista; a brother, Wayne Owens; parents, Mary & Jack Trevett; four grandchildren, Raeanne Johnson, Nate Johnson, Alyssa Piazza and Spencer Schiller, all of Grants Pass. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Owens in 1956.
