Sam Jerry Moody

Sam Jerry Moody, age 65, of Grants Pass, died Friday, May 9, 2008 at Three Rivers Community Hospital.

A visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens with Pastor Monty Pope officiating.

He was born June 3, 1942 in Alba, Texas to Sam & Alma Moody. From 1960 to 1964 he served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Kearsarge Carrier. He lived in California until moving to Grants Pass in the 1970s. Since 1978 he worked for the Grants Pass Daily Courier.

He especially enjoyed sketching.

Survivors include two sons, Jason Moody of Eielson AFB, Alaska and Joe Moody of Glendale; two stepdaughters, Amanda Horvath of Orlando, Florida and Jennifer Pray of Kansas; a sister, Sandra Lee of Lake Havasu City, Arizona; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
