Sally Beyer

Sarah Josephine Lee “Sally” Beyer, age 85, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.

A viewing will be from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 5, 2010 at Hull & Hull Funeral Directors.

A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 6, 2010 at Hull & Hull Chapel with Pastor Dennis Webber and Pastor Keith Heck officiating. Private interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Sally was born July 18, 1925 in Clear Lake, Iowa to Robert Raymond Lee & Frances (Haas) Lee. In 1940 she moved with her family to Grants Pass and in 1943 she graduated from Grants Pass High School. In 1950 at Newman United Methodist Church she married Robert Nottingham Beyer and they later divorced. She was an occupational and professional homemaker. She also operated an adult foster home.

She was a member of Parkway Christian Center since 1982 where she was active for many years in the visitation ministry. She was also a past member of Zonta.

Sally was instrumental in the founding of Britt Music Festival.

Her hobbies included gardening, collecting antiques, oil painting, and music.

Survivors include a son, Robert N. Beyer Jr of Gypsum, Colorado; a daughter, Rebecca L. Beyer of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Sarah Meeker “Cupcake” Lee of Laguna Woods, California; and three grandchildren, David Beyer, Christopher Beyer and Mia Beyer all of Colorado.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jane Skow; and two brothers, David LaMont Lee and Benjamin Haas Lee.
