Ruthanna Ash

Ruthanna “Jo” Ash, age 59, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, May 25, 2008 at her home.

Services will be held at a later date. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

She was born December 6, 1948 in Butte, Montana to Oscar & Ruth Joseph. In 1967 she graduated from Salinas High School in Salinas, California. She then attended college and lived in Dallas, Texas. In 1978 she moved to Oregon with her daughter. She worked as a cook in a local nursing facility until 1988 when she became disabled. Since 2001, she lived at The Bridge Assisted Living Facility where she made many close friends.

Her hobbies included collecting antique cans, reading the daily newspaper, arts and crafts, and collecting Sponge Bob Square Pants memorabilia.

Survivors include a daughter, Betsy Frankie of Grants Pass; her mother, Ruth Joseph; a sister, Susan Hewitt; a brother, Oscar Joseph III; two grandchildren, Athina Kuhn and Matthew Rigel II; and a great-grandson, Seth Logan Epps.

She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Joseph in 1996 and a sister, Sharon Rose Leigh Joseph.
