Ruth Elaine Thompson, 83, of Grants Pass, died Monday, May 12, 2008 at her home.
A Memorial Gathering will be held. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements

Ruth was born on April 27, 1925 in Canadian, Oklahoma to Oscar & Rena (Matthews) Dowdy. At 18 years of age in 1943 she married James Clinton Thompson in Oklahoma. He died before her in 1986.
She was a member of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary at Josephine Memorial Hospital, the Garden Club and the Ladies Club. She traveled with her husband for Trap Shooting events and occupied her time visiting with other wives.
Ruth enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, gardening, counted cross stitch, knitting and crafts. She also enjoyed playing all kinds of games including board, card, dice and electronic games. She especially enjoyed trips to Reno and Seven Feathers. Ruth lived independently until the very end.
Survivors include her son, James L. “Jim” Thompson and her daughter, Regina Lynn Thompson, both of Grants Pass; her sister, Ima Jean Gibson of McAlester, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, James Clint Thompson and Tyler Thompson, both of Klamath Falls; and Michael Eric Thompson of Spokane, Washington; and one great-granddaughter, Sophia Thompson.
