Roy “Sonny” K. Ruffner III, age 59, of Grants Pass, died Friday, August 15, 2008 at Portland V. A. Medical Center.
A graveside memorial service will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

“Sonny” was born April 6, 1949 in Los Angeles, California to Roy & Mary Ruffner. He was a graduate of Narbonne High School in Lomita, California. In April of 1969 he was drafted into the United States Army and served in Vietnam, he was honorably discharged in October of 1970. He attended Harbor City Community College and Cal Poly Tech in San Luis Obisbo, California. During his working years he worked as a contractor in construction and later as a supervisor in the defense industry.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Niobe Katrina Ruffner of Grants Pass and Naomi Kristine Ruffner Evans of Nampa, Idaho; father, Roy Koontz Ruffner Jr. of Los Angeles, California; a sister, Merry Curl of Nampa, Idaho; brother, David Ruffner of Nampa, Idaho; grandson, Levi Gustafson of Grants Pass and granddaughter, Jocelyn Evans of Nampa, Idaho.
