Robert Rowen Moine, age 86, of Keizer, passed away June 6, 2022 at his home while under hospice care.
Rowen was born August 8, 1935 in Pasadena, California to Robert & Helen Butler. After Robert passed away when Rowen was five years old, he and his Mother moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where she married Victor Moine and he adopted Rowen. In 1954 Rowen graduated from Grants Pass High School. He had two careers, one in the United States Army, National Guard, and Army Reserve, where he retired as a Command Sergeant Major with over 40 years of service. His second career was with the Oregon State Police where he gained the rank of Major and retired in 1990 with over 30 years of service. He had many accomplishments, one of which was the coordinator of operations for the Rajneeshee task force.
Survivors include his wife Cheryl; sister Laura Jeanne Gale; daughter Susan Hart; sons Robert Moine Jr and Sean Deter; foster daughter Debby Griffith; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and brother Denis.
Funeral services and private interment with military honors was held at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Grants Pass.
