Ronald Phillip Ferrero, age 65, of Grants Pass, died Monday, December 17, 2007 at his home.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 21, 2007 at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel with Father Gregory Moys officiating. Southern Oregon Cremation Services are in charge of arrangements.
Remembrances may be made to the American Cancer Society, 31 W 6th Street, Medford Oregon 97501.
Ronald was born April 29, 1942 in Burlingame, California to Edward Phillip & Catherine Ann Ferrero. He was raised in Burlingame and graduated from Burlingame High School. In 1964 Ron enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 1967 after his honorable discharge, he met his future wife, Gloria and they were married in 1969. In 1976 they had their first daughter, Michelle. Shortly after in 1979, their second daughter, Angela arrived. Happy days followed after that and in 2001 he retired from the Postal Service and moved from San Jose, California to Grants Pass. He had always enjoyed traveling through Grants Pass with his family and said he wanted to retire here because the Rogue called to him.
He belonged to St. Anne Catholic Church.
His hobbies included fishing, traveling, cooking and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Ferrero of Grants Pass; two daughters, Michelle Ferrero of Lynnwood, Washington and Angela Ferrero of Grants Pass; a sister, Barbara Burgess of Glen Rose, Texas; a brother, Joseph A. Ferrero of Vallejo, California; three nieces, Kim Rosier of Garland, Texas, Cathy Egan of California and Jimilyn Freeman of Texas; and two nephews, Michael Ferrero and Ed Ferrero both of Vallejo, California.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Phillip Ferrero; mother, Catherine Ann Ferrero and nephew Dan Rosier.
