Ronald Gergel, age 75, of Grants Pass, died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2011 at St. Anne Catholic Church with Father William Holtzinger officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park. Hull & Hull Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.

Ron was born September 11, 1935 in Campbell, Ohio to Joseph & Mary Gergel. During the Korean Conflict he served in the United States Navy. He moved to California where he met and later married Mary Fey on December 26, 1969. In 1977 they moved from California to Oregon where they owned the Rock Point Bistro until 1995. They traveled for four years and in 1999 returned to Oregon and bought Romar’s Sports Bar & Grill in Merlin where he remained active in the business until his illness.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He especially enjoyed traveling and wintering in Arizona.
In addition to his wife, Mary Gergel of Grants Pass, Oregon; three sons, Mark Gergel of Medford, Oregon and Michael Gergel and Robert Gergel both of Grants Pass, Oregon; a sister, LaVerne Gourley of Youngstown, Ohio; a brother, Leonard Gergel of Humbolt, Arizona; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and Joseph.
