On Friday, April 20, 2018 Ronald G. Anderson, age 92, passed peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father surrounded by family. Ron was born April 1, 1926 in Glendale, California to George and Ethel (Johnson) Anderson. In 1931 his family moved to Bend, Oregon for a year and then settled in Grants Pass, Oregon where he lived out his life. After graduating high school, he joined the United States Air Force during WWII and served until the end of the war. Ron was in business for many years with his father building mausoleums and as a private contractor mowing and bailing hay throughout the Rogue Valley. In addition to his love of tractor work he was an avid amateur radio operator and for many years he honed and used his skills as a member of the Civil Air Patrol. His hobbies also included bowling, swimming, and gardening although his greatest joy was working with his tractor. His motto throughout life was no job was impossible and if something needed fixing, he would find a way.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda Anderson of Grants Pass, his three children – Mary del Palacio of Stevenson Ranch, CA; Karen Ward of Moorpark, CA; Thomas Anderson of Windsor, CA; and 3 step-sons, David Downhill of Fairfield, CA; Ken Downhill of Grants Pass; and Mike Downhill of Rogue River, OR; 5 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and his sisters Elaine Bessey of North Bend, Or and Janice Weakley of Arlington , WA. He was preceded in death by his sister,Mary, his granddaughter, Bethany, and his parents.
A graveside service will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass.
